Kawaii, which means "cute" in Japanese, is a popular art style characterized by its charming and lovable characters. In this class, you will be guided through step-by-step instructions on how to draw various Kawaii characters, animals, and objects. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced artist, this class is perfect for anyone looking to add a touch of cuteness to their artwork. Each class will offer a new drawing that can be colored with colored pencils and/or crayons (supplied or bring your own). Join us and discover the joy of creating your own Kawaii masterpieces!
12:00 PM - 1:30 PM	Art - Sumi-e Japanese Ink Painting - Kanji Characters Discover the ancient art of Sumi-e Japanese ink painting, a practice that has been passed down through generations since the 14th century. This traditional technique involves grinding ink sticks on an ink stone to create stunning artworks with just black ink and a brush. The focus is on capturing the essence of the subject with simplicity and grace. In each class, students will start with warm-up exercises before moving on to painting on delicate rice paper. The final piece can be mounted on cardstock for display. Each class, a different subject or kanji character will be explored. Sumi-e is not just a painting style but a meditative practice that encourages mindfulness and appreciation for the beauty of imperfection. Enroll in this class to explore the peaceful practice of Sumi-e painting. Children aged 10-12 who can remain seated are welcome to register with a registered adult.

1:30 PM - 2:05 PM	Art - Enrichment Art with Miss Leigh - Fall Frenzy These art series are for young artists ages 4-6 and a great way to add socialization and enhance motor skills for your half-day kindergartener or preschooler. They incorporate art, stories, and games based on different monthly themes.Emerging scissors skills required. Due to demand, instructor reserves the right to substitute a project with equal or greater value.Fall FrenzyFall into creativity and fun!
