Kintsugi is a traditional Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the cracks with a golden bond. This practice emphasizes beauty in imperfection, celebrating history and uniqueness rather than hiding flaws.  While traditional Kintsugi uses lacquer and gold powder, we’ll be using modern materials to ensure a comfortable and accessible experience. For this reason, your finished piece is intended for decorative use only (not food/water/heat safe).  Each piece becomes a one-of-a-kind work of art.   Materials may stain, so please "dress for mess".$10 materials fee due to instructor the first day of class.You may take your piece home that evening if stable to move, but most participants opt to dry overnight to be picked up at the Senior Center the following day. Art with Heart Senior Watercolor class is back!  April through October - NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED.Each project is drawn on authentic watercolor paper and suitable for framing.  The same fun class as last year, but now you get to choose what you want to paint.  20 different projects to choose from.  Each guest will have their own setup with paints, brushes and everything needed to complete the project.You will sign your masterpiece and leave with a handmade gift to keep or give to someone you care about.  This is strictly for creative fun! Alcohol Ink Plates and TilesDiscover and explore how Alcohol Inks can be used. Alcohol Inks are vibrant, translucent and very forgiving! Investigate how this medium can be used by making your design completely abstract or more realistic by painting! Make your beautiful set of our tiles or two plates for your one of a kind art work. The inks are applied to the non-porous surfaces such as glossy tiles and plates by manipulating the inks. The inks are moved and floated by using rubbing alcohol, blending solution and air to create unique designs and texture. These plates are for decorative use and once sealed can be used other than for decorative purposes. Tiles can be used for decorations and coasters. All supplies included.Alcohol Ink Landscape PaintingAlcohol ink landscape painting are popular due to the fluid, fast drying nature of alcohol ink and isopropyl alcohol.  The ink creates vibrant depth of color with layering.  It produces atmospheric scenes  of natural elements like misty mountains, glassy lakes and brilliant sunsets. The ink mixes and blends  on non-porous surfaces like Yupo paper, ceramic tiles or glass.  In this class you will create an abstract landscape painting on non-porous paper surface, learning how the ink flows and mixes to create beautiful images.  You will take away the skill set to use the alcohol inks on many impermeable surfaces. All supplies included.
