Trips - Longwood Gardens "Spring Blooms"

A motorcoach bus will leave from the Northampton Township Library parking lot at 9:00 am arriving at Longwood Gardens, Kennett Square, Pa. approx. 10:30 am. You will be on your own to explore the thousands of bulbs and acres of flowering trees which color the landscape of the indoor Arboretum and the spectacular grounds. There is a gift shop as well as the Terrace Café’ for dining, along with a beer garden, a picnic grove or the 1906 Restaurant (reservations required) . The bus will depart at approx. 3:00 pm for the return to Richboro.
Longwood Gardens was developed by Pierre S. DuPont into, what it is today, a magnificent horticultural showplace. Encompassing 1,050 acres of gardens, woodlands, and meadows the grounds display over 11,000 different types of plants, both indoors and out, making Longwood Gardens the world’s premiere horticulture showplace. The Flower Garden Walk will feature bulbs and tulips in rainbow of color, and spring annuals like marigolds and snapdragons. Visit the ornate Italian gardens complete with elaborate fountains or take a walk through the stunning Pierce DuPont house located on the grounds.
(Those requiring handicap assistance: due to the expanse of the gardens, there is quite a bit of walking involved. Should you need assistance, wheelchairs or motorized scooters are available on a first come basis. You may also bring your own personal mobility device.
