You will be on your own to explore the thousands of bulbs and acres of flowering trees which color the landscape of the indoor Arboretum and the spectacular grounds. Longwood Gardens was developed by Pierre S. Dupont into what is today, a magnificent horticultural showplace. Encompassing 1,050 acres, woodlands, and meadows, the grounds display over 11,000 different types of plants, both indoors and out, making Long Wood Gardens the world’s premiere horticultural showplace. From vibrant blooms to dancing fountains, take a walk through the stunning DuPont house located on the grounds. There is a gift shop as well as the Terrace Café for dining, along with a beer garden, a picnic grove, and the 1906 Restaurant for dining (reservations required).
(Those requiring handicap assistance: due to the expanse of the gardens, there is quite a bit of walking involved. Should you need assistance, wheelchairs or motorized scooters are available on a first come basis. You may also bring your own personal mobility device.
