Intro to Field Hockey
Join us for 6-weeks of Sunday afternoon field hockey. Young boys and girls will get an introduction to this amazing Olympic sport that features eye-hand coordination and decision making. Ball control skills will be emphasized for dribbling, passing, receiving, and shooting. Basic rules knowledge and team concepts will also be introduced. Your instructors will be Kiet Maloney, a recent member of USA Field Hockey’s Junior National Men’s Field Hockey and Indoor Hockey Teams and former member of the Rider University coaching staff, and his father, Cris Maloney, a former physical education teacher and certified athletic trainer with a 50-year history as a field hockey player, coach, umpire, author, and program director.

Indoor Field Hockey Pickup
We’re excited to offer indoor pick-up field hockey games for middle school and high school players. The 6-weeks of Sunday indoor field hockey begins on January 7. Before each game, the players will add their sticks to a pile, the sticks will be divided into teams, and self-called games will ensue. Indoor rules will govern play. Full-sized goals will not be used. Intermittent coaching will be provided as needed by program leader Kiet Maloney, a recent member of USA Field Hockey’s Junior National Men’s Field Hockey and Indoor Hockey Teams and former member of the Rider University coaching staff.

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT: Field hockey stick, shin pads, mouth guard, and field hockey ball. Please ensure player’s equipment is marked with their name or other unique identifier. If you're new to field hockey and need equipment, reach out to Cris Maloney, cris.maloney@gmail.com (no H in the Cris) for an affordable "everything you need" starter pack.
