Field hockey stick and ball
Field hockey is an amazing Olympic sport that features eye-hand coordination, athleticism, discipline, and quick thinking. Our STICK IQ Indoor Field Hockey League, will be held in our weather-perfect indoor facility. Its smooth "be successful" surface is ideal for young field hockey players. Your lead instructors are Bridget Schaeffer and Cris Maloney. Coach Bridget is a physical education teacher, championship middle school field hockey coach, and has more than 15 years of youth sports coaching experience. She is First Aid, CPR, and AED certified. Coach Cris was a physical education teacher and has a 50-year history with field hockey as a player, coach, author, and product developer. Both of our instructors are also field hockey umpires.

Grades 2-4, 5-6, 7-9
Each day will begin with an important drill (10 minutes) and then players will be divided into teams for coached games. Players will use ball control, dribbling, dodging, passing, receiving, defending, and team concepts to try and win games and show progress. It won't be all about the number of times the ball goes in the goal. Coaches can give bonus points for dodges, passes, spreading out, etc.

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT: Field hockey stick, shin pads, mouth guard, and field hockey ball. Please ensure player’s equipment is marked with their name or other unique identifier.
