This course gives future and currently babysitters the confidence and skills they need to care for children safely and responsibly. Participants will learn how to be medically responsible, creative, and attentive babysitters while gaining essential child care techniques and leadership abilities.
Topics include basic safety, emergency awareness, and introductory care techniques for children. Through hands-on activities and discussion, participants will build the confidence to handle real-life situations with care and professionalism.
Upon successful completion, participants will earn an official American Red Cross Babysitting Certification Card and demonstrate their understanding of key child care and safety concepts.
Attendance for the entire course, completion of all evaluations, and maturity to care for children independently are required. Please bring a lunch and a pen or pencil to class.
*the Red Cross Babysitting Course does not include CPR certification
General Information
- Early Resident Savings –(ERS) Northampton Residents registering at least one week prior to the start date of the program will pay the Early Resident Savings Fee (ERS). The ERS fee is not listed below, but will appear during the checkout process. Mail in registrations must be postmarked at least one week prior to the start of the class in order to receive this savings.
